Format requirements for materials presented to the journal’s editorial office

The editorial board accepts materials with a volume of up to 28,000 characters (0.7 auth. l.), including the metadata of the article. The number of musical examples and other illustrations should not exceed 10.

The text file must be named “Surname_First 2-4 words from the article’s title”. The article's text must be typed on a computer in MS Word editor: Times New Roman font, 14 font size, one-and-a-half line spacing, 2,5 cm page margins, full justification. If one uses some other unstandardized font, one must present a file of such font.
Electronic versions of diagrams (done only in .png, .gif, .jpg, .tif) should be sent additionally as separate files. If there are any coloured diagrams, one should notice that they will be printed black and white. Diagrams and tables must be signed in Russian and in English.

1.  UDC

UDC stands for Universal Decimal Classification index. To define UDC one may use, for example, Universalnaya desyatichnaya klassifikatziya: Abbr. tables, an edition published from 1963 to 1997, or an Internet source: http://classinform.ru/udk/7.html

2.  Title

The title may contain no more than 10-12 words.

It should have main key words and cannot contain any abbreviations or formulas. The title expresses the article’s contents, subject matter, and research results, briefly and accurately summarizes the research, shows the appeal and uniqueness of the author’s scientific creativity.

A few of the keywords epitomizing the article must be included in the title. It is desirable they should be placed at the beginning of the title.
! When translating the title into English, there cannot be any transliterations from Russian, except proper names, names of devices or other objects which have special names; there cannot also be any slang known only to Russian-speaking specialists that cannot be translated at all.

3.  Authors

It is better not to use the alphabetic order when listing the authors. Following scientific ethics, authors should be listed according to their contribution to the research. Once chosen foreign variant of writing a name and surname should be used in all articles. The most commonly used variant is the one from foreign passport, or a transliterated BSI variant (https://translit.ru/ru/bsi/).

4.  Affiliation

Affiliation indicates names and addresses of both the place of the author's main work and other organizations to which he was somehow related during the research and with which he is bound by certain liabilities. Thus, there might be several organizations mentioned in affiliation. When choosing the best suited English variant for an organization’s name, one should follow the recommendations on the organization’s website. It is not advisable to put down the titles indicating the status of the organization (FSBEI and such like). All affiliation components should be separated by a comma.

5.  Abstract and keywords

The abstract must contain 150-250 words: relevance of the research topic, problem statement, research goals, research methods, results, and key conclusions.

The abstract cannot contain the same text as in the article; one cannot take whole sentences from the article and put them into the abstract. There cannot be any numbers, tables or in-text footnotes in the abstract. It may not contain any material that cannot be found in the article.
Keywords are those words which render the main content of the article, serve as a guideline for the reader, and are used when searching for an article in electronic databases. There must be from 4 up to 10 keywords and no more than 3 words in a key phrase. They should give an idea about the subject, topic, goal, and object of the research.
The abstract and keywords must be translated into English as well.

6.  Conflict of interests

This means that there are certain relations and/or personal interest which might possibly influence the results, interpretation of the received data, their objective perception; this might be, for instance, some financial relations or cooperation with certain organizations, or non-financial interests (for example, personal, family relations) concerning the material speculated upon in the article.

If there is no conflict of interests, one should state the following: “The author declares no conflict of interests”.

7.  Body of the article

The body of the article must include:

– introduction (the goal and the object of the research; its relevance and novelty, some original hypothesis if there is any);

– methodology (description of the research sequence, grounding for chosen and used methods);
– review of literature (its aim is to study and assess the works existing in this subject field; critical review, summarizing of all general points of view);
– results (the author’s analytical, classified statistical material. This part takes a central place in the article. The aim is to prove the working hypothesis by means of analysis, generalization and explanation of data. If necessary, the results can be consolidated by illustrations – tables, charts, diagrams. Please, note! Illustrated information must not repeat the text);
– conclusions (here lay brief results of the article’s sections without repeating the statements given in them. Conclusions can interpret the received results through combining the experience, basic knowledge and scientific potential giving several possible explanations).
When formalizing the paper, it is important to remember that in the subheadings it is not recommended to write that it is an introductory, main or closing part.
7.1.            Appendix
If necessary, after the article text there can be an appendix which is a kind of supplementary, but not supporting material. Any appendix needs a topical heading. There must be a reference to its material in the text. It can have links to the bibliographical list, footnotes.

8.  Acknowledgments

In this section authors should mention grants or other kinds of financial and non-financial support they have been given when preparing and conducting their research.

9.  References

References may include only those sources used for preparing the article. All sources must have a link in the text.

The reference list must have at least 5 sources. They should be placed in the alphabetical order by author’s surname. Foreign sources should be placed at the end of the list.

Unscientific publications (governing documents, Internet-sources with inconsistent content without mentioning specific material (except electronic publications which can have a bibliographical description), blogs, forums, as well as anonymous scientific resources should be placed in footnotes.
References are put in round brackets in the text: (Surname, N., year of publication, page). Sources in Russian and English are placed in the alphabetical order without numeration in the reference list.
BSI standard should be used when transliterating.
